Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office is aware of victims of a spoofing scam soliciting money from people claiming to work for or have some affiliation with our Office. Please be informed that these are spoofing scams and are not associated with the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office. It is not our practice nor does our Office contact anyone via telephone regarding warrants, bonds, hearings, jury duty, etc. The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office does not solicit money from nor request money from anybody over the phone and do not ask people to send checks, CashApp, Zelle, or cash payments to our office or the court.

If you have received a call from someone claiming to be from the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office requesting any money from you or asking for your personal information, please do not give them any of your information or money, hang up and file a complaint with our Office at phillysheriff.com and/or contact the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) at 1-888-225-5322. If you have been a victim of one of these spoofing scams, please file a report with your local police department or contact the District Attorney’s Office.

We are doing everything we can to assist and identify the people who are responsible for these spoofing scams and remain committed to protecting and serving the Philadelphia community.
